Mastering The Equine Nervous System with Sozo Equine®

The Equine Nervous System is a class that focuses on understanding, assessing, and treating nerve impingements in the horse.
The nervous system powers everything in the body.
If our computer crashed, we would first check to make sure it was plugged in.
Let’s learn to find a soft tissue that isn’t firing correctly and check to make sure it's plugged in too.
The term “nerve impingement” can include anything from sticky fascia that limits the ability of the nerve to glide during movement to acute nerve injuries. All nerves should be able to glide through tissue like butter, but tack fit, poor training, poor movement mechanics, and injuries all have the potential to cause nerve impingements.
As an occupational therapist I was trained and treated nerve impingements everyday in the human rehab world. When I would cross over to the horse world there was no talk of it. Not one of my certification classes mentioned even a nerve glide.
This curriculum has been four years in the making. I’ve spent 4 years creating these techniques, monitoring progress, and fine-tuning.
I’m excited to get the knowledge out to more skilled professionals so that more horses can feel the benefits.
You will have the tools to see the horse through a completely new lens and a new way of thinking about the horse that includes going to the (literal nerve) root of everything you normally treat.
This skillset helps you get to the bottom of the problem so that real rehab can take place and you can stop band-aiding symptoms.
The Layout of the Course
This online class is on-demand, self-paced, and includes lifetime access.
You will have access to a facebook group that is for enrolled students only to bounce ideas off of each other, ask questions, and share cases.
The online class starts with an introduction to the nervous system, its components, and anatomy. Then we focus on peripheral nerves.
I’ll take you through the nervous system teaching through each plexus, and each nerve in the plexus:
🔸the anatomy of each nerve
🔸causes of dysfunction
🔸presentation of dysfunction
🔸how to to check for dysfunction
🔸how to treat each nerve including things like nerve glides, myofascial release, blading, manual nerve release, taping, etc.
There are demonstration videos for each topic as well as printable field manuals with lots of beautiful anatomy artwork of each nerve and its innervation.
